It is great to see so many girls having a go this year.

Ruskin Park Auskick 2011 – new venue

Posted by frontier on June 15, 2011

Due to resurfacing of the main oval at Ruskin Park Primary School Croydon we cannot use the oval at the school. This year we will be running our Auskick clinics from Croydon Primary School.

This has been a good outcome so far as we have a lot of room to learn our skills and we are looking forward to using the new oval next season.

Posted by frontier on May 30, 2009

A strong turnout at signup and the first Auskick clinic for 2009 is a good indicator for Ruskin Park Auskick. A great mixture of boys and girls had a lot of fun and many of the newcomers had a great time also.

Grandparents Day

Posted by frontier on August 2, 2008

This Saturday is grandparents day at Ruskin Park Auskick.

This is a great opportunity to bring your grandparents along to Ruskin Park Primary School and see what happens at an Auskick clinic.

The highlight of the day will be a banner run though by the preps and ones at the end of their sessions.

Don’t forget to visit the Ruskin Park Auskick website to see pictures, videos and an updated calendar of what is happening each week.

Ruskin Park Auskick News May

Posted by frontier on May 26, 2008

Hi everyone

Saturday May 17th was to be the first of our Interclinc matches between Ruskin and Croydon, unfortunately this event had to be cancelled due to poor weather, however we are trying to re schedule for later in the year.

This Saturday, May31st, is a day not to miss, as it is our Richmond Player visit.

Richmond is zoned to our Auskick and each year one of their up and coming stars join us for a clinic.

This is your chance to get some skills and game tips as well as demonstrations from a real AFL player followed by a Question and answer session and autograph signing.

In the past we have been lucky enough to have had such players as,

Shane Tuck

Richard Tambling

Jay Shulz and

Kelvin Moore

So don’t forget to bring your cameras, jumpers and autograph books.

Good news for the senior players in this years Round Robin, we have managed to secure a team in this years event by combining you with some Croydon Hills Auskick players. We will be entered as Ruskin/Croydon Hills and will be wearing the Ruskin colours. This year may be a shortened program due to lack of seniors across all clinics,

The fixtures will be available soon.

We are still looking for a junior coach and will provide all training and help required.

Anyone interested, please come and see or call me anytime.

Go Ruskin!

Auskick News April 2008

    Ruskin Park Auskick News

Hi Everyone, Welcome back to all our players from last year and a warm welcome to all our new auskickers and parents. April 12th saw Ruskin Park Auskick get underway for season 2008 with around 30 children in the Junior level, 25 in the Intermediate level and 10 in the Senior level. This is a great result as we have only just started.

We now have our largest junior level since my time at Auskick and this stands us well for the future.

Coaching appointments have been made for 2008 and are as follows:

Senior Coach – Cam Dall

Intermediate Coach – Stuart Thomas

Junior Coach – Steve Davidson (acting)

We still need a full time Junior Coach and will be appointing one as soon as possible.

This year will be another full season with Clinics, Skills tests and Interclinics against Mooroolbark and possibly Croydon Auskick Centres.

Seniors will have an AFL Auskick game at the MCG Donning the Melbourne Colors, a great experience for our 4, 5 and 6’s.

Intermediates will have a Grid game on the same day

Our Richmond Player visit will be on May 31st, this is a great opportunity to meet, talk and learn some skills from an AFL player.

The Round Robin has been set for June 21st at Eastfeild Park, this is an eight clinic competition for Grades 2,3,4,5 and 6, this year we will be defending our title as “Senior Champions” good luck guys.

As usual we will have our Grandparents Day, Banner Day, Olympics Day and our Parents night out, we may also throw in a fundraiser along the way.

We are lucky enough to have the full support of the school and its facilities especially the canteen, where the money you spend goes back into the clinic in the form of equipment and giveaways.

So lets get behind the kids this year and give them a great 2008

Go Ruskin!

Grid game #2

Posted by ruskick on August 7, 2007

Grid game #2 saw Ruskin Park @ the MCG for a night game between Collingwood and Brisbane. The boys played in front of a crowd of around 45,000 and didn’t waste any time getting a score on the board. Jesse, Dan and James were the major goal scorers with Ben adding his bag to the score. Caellam took a couple of really good grabs as he racked up some great defensive stats. Justin, Alex, Nicholas, Lochlan, Nathan, Teddy and Axel all played beautifully and Hi Fived the crowd as they left the ground. The Entertainment award goes to Coach Stuart for falling over the banner to a rousing reception from the magpie faithful, well done everyone.
